Heaven: closed to us for ages. The gates slammed shut in ancient days and we were left on the outside of all we had known, locked out. I was locked out. And now…here You are, coming up out of the water, seeing heaven being torn open.
Heaven is torn open for You. The Spirit descends like a dove on You. I'm happy for You - but what good does that do me?
I am in You. (2 Cor. 5:17, Gal. 3:27). So, if heaven is being torn open for You, then heaven is being torn open for me.
By standing in my place, You are opening heaven up to me once again (tearing it open, to be exact). After all this time, after all these ages on the outside, heaven is opening up to me and I have access to what is within (and for me what is within is You), because You have access, and I am in You.
The events had already been set in motion, but this is the beginning of the end of them, the beginning of heaven being opened up to us, the beginning of You standing in our place, the beginning of the tearing of the veil between us and God. Between me and You.
As You step into my place, heaven opens for me once again.
As the Spirit descends on You - so it descends on me, too.
Because I am in You.
I am no longer alone, no longer condemned to stay outside, no longer estranged.
The gates are opening. For me.
