After over 2 years of working on this project, the CD’s for A Few Small Fish arrived yesterday. So hard to believe that after all this time they’re finally here. There were times when I thought we might not ever finish. All the agonizing and struggling over decisions and setbacks, and now I’m holding it in my hand…
I’ve learned a lot, and there are things that I would change or do a little differently if I had to do it over, although nothing big.
But I don’t want to do it over. I’m ready to go on to the next project, which I hope will benefit from the lessons I learned doing the first one.
My main question is: does the album say what I was trying to say?
So let me know if you think it does.
In the last 3 weeks, we’ve gone from Novosibirsk to Moscow to London to Atlanta and on to Tulsa and then back to Little Rock. Now we’re in South Georgia. Tomorrow we go on to Tampa. No, I’m not touring. Well, not in that sense. We’re visiting, sharing. But today I’m sitting in the swing in my in-laws front yard in the country, enjoying the birds and the quiet, soaking up the heat. Trying to just be where I am, and not to think too much about the next project.
